Daisy Schimoler Perez
Studio Administrator & Instructor
Born in Havana Cuba, Daisy exiled the country with her
family in the late 1960's via Europe and ultimately
landied in New York - albeit a short stay. Her mother's persistence
to move back to a warm tropical climate finally paid
off and they finally landed in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
It was here were Daisy honed her artistic skills with life drawing
and painting from an early age. Her talent continued throughout
secondary school and into college where she studied Commercial
and Fine Art at Sagrado Corazon University. Upon graduating, Daisy
began working as a commercial artist in the advertising world with
Marti, Flores, Prieto & Wachtel (JWT). She continued to paint and draw
the everyday scenes and happenings around her life. In 1990 Daisy
moved to New York, where she continued her studies at the New School,
this time studying a life-long passion... pottery. She has continued her studies
at the Summit Art Association (NJ) as well as the Pottery People in Morristown, NJ.
With her keen visual ability - and love for simple form, a renewal of artistic expression
took on a whole new life.
